Church Bay Explorers Lodge is located directly on Church Bay and is an exclusive vacation home for guests looking for something truly special during their stay in Ilulissat. There are no buildings between the house and the sea – just the open bay and enormous icebergs slowly drifting past.
One of the highlights of the house is the large private terrace with exceptional views across Disko Bay. Here, you can sit undisturbed and watch the icebergs, changing light and life on the water. During whale season, there are also good chances of spotting whales directly from the house or terrace.
The house has three separate bedrooms, each with a large double bed. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room, providing accommodation for up to 8 guests. This makes Church Bay Explorers Lodge particularly well suited for families, three couples or groups looking for plenty of space and a high level of comfort.
The heart of the house is the spacious living room and open-plan kitchen and dining area, with views directly over the water. There is plenty of room to cook, eat and spend time together. The well-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, generous refrigerator and freezer space, and an extra-large oven with enough room to prepare, for example, a whole Greenlandic leg of lamb.
The house also has a washing machine and dryer, as well as a bathroom with a bathtub, making it comfortable and practical for longer stays.
Although you are staying right on the waterfront surrounded by Greenlandic nature, Ilulissat and the town’s facilities are still close by. After a day of exploring, you can return to your own private retreat, prepare dinner together and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while icebergs drift past just outside the windows.

From Ilulissat Airport, the easiest way to reach Church Bay Explorers Lodge is by taxi. The drive takes approximately 10 minutes, and taxis are usually available directly outside the airport terminal.
The house is located in Church Bay, in a peaceful waterfront location with beautiful views across Disko Bay, while still being within walking distance of central Ilulissat.
Detailed check-in instructions, including directions to the entrance and the keybox code, will be sent directly to guests before arrival.
